Contemporary Art Magazine

Contemporary artis is well know for his unremitting sense of humor and the incorporation of pop brand imagery, also known as POPaganda (the term he coined) within his artwork. I caught up with English at the inside Basel Castle where he’d released four unique posters and several large scale helium balloons exclusively for the event. Also while staying in Miami he created a large scale mural entitled Hulkboy at Midtown Miami’s Wynwood Walls area. I asked English what his next project was and he promptly showed me a video clip from the new cartoon that he’s currently working on entitled Rabbbit. See the video and more after the jump! while Meggs dabbled in dark imagery, Reka and Phibs presented two different takes on Cubist-inspired abstraction and Makatron fixated on nature-inspired psychedelia. At first I wanted to have the ceremony in the church I grew up. After a long search and many visits we found The Tribute Golf Club, I loved it. Only problem is that The Tribute and my home church had no dates that worked together. See FI is going to Isreal for a month and didn't want to get married before he went because then he would have to leave me, so we were looking for a date just after he returned. We already were going to have at least a 9 month engagement (due to his travels) and were not looking to extend that very much.So we decided to do the ceremony and reception at The Tribute.I never thought I would have an outdoor wedding, but I am so excited now and couldn't picture anything else. It's perfect!I love the secluded feeling of The Tribute. Like it's just out in the middle of nowhere. Everytime I go visit it (which is a lot haha) it's like this perfect little wedding location bubbleEEEK. Okay so I am only six months away from my big day. And who doesn't have a dress. ME! Lol. So after I made the pattern for the dress in the sketch above I started second guessing, because I was seeing all these gorgeous flowy dresses that I just loved. So I wanted to try and incorporate flowy with that dress.

If you have uttered this phrase in the recent past, read on. If you have mastery of your camera this post will not likely excite you.I then told him I’d be happy to help him get a little more out of his camera for the rest of his travels through South America. It’s always tricky making this offer, because some people just want a few tips and some can suck down half a day of sightseeing with constant questions. Unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to sit down and talk cameras until our time traveling together was almost over.With just 15 minutes until we boarded and sat in different areas of the plane, I did my best to fill his head with quick tips to take better photos while he headed on to Brazil. Here then is what I told him.Moving the dial to P(rogram), I explained that he would now be in charge of when his flash fired (and to not forget to use it at night when needed, but also in the middle of the day when there are shadows on faces). He could also control metering. As there were skylights in the airport and friends sitting across from us, with a very bright backlight, I took a shot with the friends centered. They were very dark because of the backlight. “Yeah! I’ve done that all the time!” he exclaimed. The camera was metering off the background and not the friends.

Instagram Photo Book

Yes, I know I have professed my love for enough but seriously we are talking head-over-heels after getting this little book in the mail. There are some cool resources for printing your instagram photos and one of them is this cool book from It pulls enough of your recent photos from Instagram to fill a square book. Print it as is or you can rearrange things to your liking, customizing the cover, you can remove photos you don’t like or pair up ones that look good together. You can add a title, type in your journaling and other customization. I kept mine pretty simple.* I couldn’t figure out how to get older pictures from my Instagram so I will have to make one every 100 pictures or so.I added some simple text or details about the pictures.Even if you don’t use Instagram there are other options for books using photos on your computer, which we all have bazillions of.A while back I ordered mini books from Printstagram…they are literally like 1.5 inches, but for $10 you get 3 mini books, like 72 pics or something like that. It was a little tricky with moving things in order bcz I wanted to give them to 3 different ppl. But they are cute & magnetic, perfect for fridge! They also print these cool posters with all the mini photos.
