The 2013 Chrysler 200 convertible returns with minimal changes for this
model year and delivers exceptional value in a sleek, easy-to drive
package. Available in three trim levels, the Chrysler 200 convertible
can be configured with one of two exclusive engines and provides
reasonable fuel economy with both, making it a solid choice for drivers
looking for a fun alternative to the same old commuter sedan.
Under the hoodTwo engine choices are available to buyers of the 2013 Chrysler 200
convertible. The first, a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine,
produces 173 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of
torque. For improved performance, buyers can upgrade to the 3.6-liter V6
engine and its 283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque; this added power
allows the Chrysler 200 to accelerate smoothly from 0 to 60 miles per
hour in 7.5 seconds, an average time for this automotive segment. Both
engines feature front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic
transmission. Surprisingly, the base
gets worse fuel economy than the V6, which is rated at 19 miles to the
gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway, better than
average in the midsize convertible class. Safety features include
antilock braking, air bags, traction and stability controls, and active
front head restraints designed to prevent whiplash during a collision.
