Best Concierge Service In The World
We arrived on May 5th late in the evening with an infant and were in our
room on the 4th floor within minutes. The first night we encountered
problems with the shower not draining and a defective baby bed. Bringing
this to their attention, Mr. Thomas Schneider at the front desk offered
an upgrade on floor 6 for a small fee, including use of the lounge on
floor 6. This was just perfect for us, since the lounge offers a good
breakfast, afternoon tea and evening appetizers in a quiet environment.
and wonderful staff . Also there are 2 computers with free internet
access which was used by us every day.The hotel was one of the best
we ever stayed in, from the beds to the beautiful bathrooms, and I have
stayed in many hotels around the world. Shampoos, lotions, bath gel were
replaced every day. The pool was great and heated. Also the service of the bell captain was outstanding. On
an ongoing basis Mr. Sebastian Sonnemann at the front desk greeted us
every day when we returned and ade us feel welcome. All together, a
wonderful stay and next time we are in Berlin, ONLY STEIGENBERGER, that
is for sure.
Welcome at the hotel was good, the guys in charge of the luggage are
particularly helpful and good humoured. The reception staff were
friendly and efficient. We were offered a' very nice room at the front
of the hotel ' by the receptionist . (This was code for a noisy room
next to the lifts with an unattractive view and not at he front ! )The
room was a good size and well furnished. There were armchairs and a
footstool, ideal for relaxing after sightseeing. The beds were extremely
comfortable with good quality bed linen. Bathroom clean and functional
but no robes provided. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided as
was free wifi which were both well used and appreciated. The
location is ideal for Ku'damm and the Zoo. Ku'damm is a little like
Oxford Street and is very busy. There are transport links to the main
sights but is not as central as other areas. We had already spent 2
nights in the Mitte area which we much preferred. We did not use the
restaurant but had drinks in the piano bar one evening. Not sure how
this hotel has five star status, it is very nice but I would say it is
on a par with many 4 star hotels.
